Yesterday some of Jacob's family and friends met at the Bountiful Temple to do Jacob's Temple work. This first picture was taken later that night, after we went to Jacob's viewing.

I woke one morning, while Jacob still seemed in stable condition, with a different set of lyrics on my mind to James Taylor's "Fire and Rain". Somehow, though I was disturbed with the thought he might not recover, the new lyrics seemed more comforting than the original:

Just yesterday morning I heard that you were hangin’ on
Jacob, God’s plans they made a change in you
I woke up this morning and felt like singing out this song
I’m just not quite sure whom to send it to
We've shared fire and we've shared rain
We've shared sunny days that we thought would never end
We've shared lonely times when you could not find a friend
But we’ve always known that we'd see you again
Won't you look down upon us, Jesus
Help us each to make a stand
You've just got to help us through another day
Our hearts are aching and our time is in hand
And we can't make it any other way
Oh, we've shared fire and we’ve shared rain
We've shared sunny days that we thought would never end
We've shared lonely times when you could not find a friend
But we’ve always known that we'll see you again
I’ve been walking my mind to an easy time
With our backs toward the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it’ll turn our heads around
Well, there’s hours of time round the campfire line
To talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and playing machines in pieces on the ground.
Oh, we've shared fire and we’ve shared rain
We've shared sunny days that we thought could never end
We've shared lonely times when you could not find a friend
But we always knew that we'll see you, Jacob, one more time again, now
Sure we’ll see you one more time again
There are more things coming our way this time around, now
Know we’ll see you, sure we’ll share your fire and rain, now…
What a beautiful family moment at the temple. I loved the photos. Sending you our love! Randall and Michelle Spilker
