Jacob's Acorns

"We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance." (see 1 Ne. 1:20). -Elder Bednar- April 2005 The Tender Mercies of the Lord.

Temple

Yesterday some of Jacob's family and friends met at the Bountiful Temple to do Jacob's Temple work. This first picture was taken later that night, after we went to Jacob's viewing.
There was a sweet spirit there, as we felt of Jacob and our Saviors love for us.

I was a wonderful experience. We are so thankful for Temples, our Savior and the knowledge that FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!

Jacob's Obituary

JACOB PARK

Jacob Forrest Park 4/10/1997 ~ 10/04/2009 CENTERVILLE- Jacob Forrest Park died 12 days after a bike accident. He was the energy of our home and a great example of love and service. We are comforted in the knowledge that families are forever, we will be with him again. Thank you to our friends, family and neighbors for incredible support and to the caring efforts of the Primary Children's staff. Jacob had another miracle left, he was able to be an organ donor and give the gift of life to others. Jacob is such a joy to our family. His last testimony he gave was simply his love for his family. For 4 and a half years Jacob is the best friend to Jordan and helped him while he was sick without ever being asked and never complained. His example of love and service has stood out to us for a long time, but now seems to us to have been one of his main missions here on Earth. I cannot help but think that now he and Colbren will both be serving a mission at the same time Jacob in Heaven and Colbren here. We have also learned about faith. We had faith that the Lord could heal Jacob if he was still needed here, but we also then had to learn that we had to have faith that the Lord needed Jacob to come home. We feel no fear about where he is, for we know we will be with him again. Families are forever, the Savior loves us and sends his tender mercies and angels to us every day if we just look for them. Miracles happen, and we have had many. We are so grateful Jacob had one more miracle left in him so he could donate his organs and tissues so that some other families will not have to go through such a huge loss. Friend to everyone, gentle and loving by nature, joyful by choice, and faithful to the end , we will miss our Jacob but are comforted by the great plan of salvation. Thank you for everything Jacob we love you.

Remembering Jacob

Today Jacob's ward family Young Men's and Young Women's gathered to remember the special times with Jacob. The Bishop spoke, and all could feel the Spirit. There was laughter and tears, and a feeling of gratefulness to have known Jacob. We are all so blessed to have known him and the Park family.

Update from Cher

Jacob's numbers improved late tonight. I'm home going to bed, and have been comforted in my prayers that as we attend the temple for Colbren and Trey's endowments tomorrow, that the Lord will be watching over Jacob. Sabree will sit with Jacob, with her experience with her own two sisters and helping with Jacob, we are confident he is in good hands between the Lord, his Doctor's and Sabree. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!
